A day in Volpaia, Greve and Panzano

Yesterday the local bar was closed for their one day off a week so we didn't have any internet to connect with our adoring public.   So, after sleeping in again, we made our way to Bar Ucci, run by Paola Barucci, to catch up on internet time and take in the atmosphere.

After two meals, four hours, two rainstorms and three different tables we retired to our house for a siesta.  In that time, Paola became our new best friend after Marisa gave her a massage, we got salt and Panna cotta as a gift, and we learned that Paola's mom, Mama Gina, found a turkey in the forest and they made it into their pet.  A pretty eventful morning and early afternoon.

Our lazy day concluded with a brief trip to Greve on our way to dinner at our landlord's house in Panzano.

They live In a more modern apartment on the outskirts of Panzano with great views of the valley.  Franco and Graziella prepared pesto, roasted meats and mouthwateringly soft red onions cooked in foil in the outdoor barbeque.
