On the way from Siena to Cinque Terre

We picked up our fancy rental car (an upgrade) and made our way out of Siena to San Gimignano.  San Gimignano is known for its towers begun in medieval times.  Unlike our expectations, the crowds were light and easy to manage.  Ofie climbed more stairs than she would have liked but she continues to be a trooper.

Our lunch view left nothing to the imagination and the food was just as good as the view.

Tessa took charge of driving and even though our first attempt to get to our rental outside Cinque Terre led to a dead end, we put our heads together and figured out how to get to Casa Borsi.  Donatella and Guiliano, our hosts, were more than ready to greet us with apertif and advice for navigating the area.  We took their dinner recommendation and ate well at a local trattoria run by two brothers and two sisters ( who are married to one another).

This evening ends with watching Brazil v.Colombia on our host's couch.
